ABOUT US
I'm Mariana
Lese Hoffmann and have been involved in Siberian Husky's world
since I felt in love for this breed when I was 12 years old.
That was "love at first sight" and now I can say "love for a
lifetime"! One
year later, Bukharin Siberians
was established, in late 1994.
Bukharin
Siberians is located in Canela, Rio Grande do Sul, at the southern
region of Brazil.
We live at the mountains, where the weather is cold at
winter - sometimes with a little snow - and the temperature is pretty cool during most of the year.
SHOW ACOMPLISHMENTS
We have produced quality Siberians over the years and champions
in various countries. Our show acomplishments by now include
Best in Specialty Show, Best in Specialty Show Youth, Best in
Specialty Show Puppy, Best in Show Youth, Best in Show Puppy,
Best in Show Placements, Champions in Brazil, Guatemala,
Nicaragua, Uruguay and Costa Rica, Group Winners, Best of Breed
Winners, Grand Champions, Pan-American Champions, Central American Champions, South
American Champions, International Champions, Youth Champions, Puppy Champions,
#1 Siberian Husky
in Nation, #1 Nordic Group in
Nation, #3 & #4 All-Breeds in
Nation - Guatemala & Costa Rica 2005.
We enjoy going to dogshows, but
currently we are
not too actively showing. We are concentrating our attention for the
research as well as the breeding work and the daily
life with our own dogs. Most of our top ranked homebred dogs are
owned by friends, that are doing really a great job with them.

OUR GOAL
The most important to us is the amount of
happiness we share with our dogs having them around every day.
Show accomplishments are only a plus factor and recognition for
our efforts. Our dogs are a big responsability to us and we
always try to give them the
best quality of life possible, for a happy, safety and healthy
existence, full of daily enjoyment and fun.
Our goal is to breed for good
health, friendly temperament and hability to work, fitting
perfectly the standard and producing sound structure, good proportions, correct movement,
pretty faces. We believe in
a very selective and special breeding stock - quality and not
quantity -, never too numerous, as we prefer to
give each of our Siberians personal care and attention.
Our Siberians are not only show dogs or reproducers, but beloved
members of our family.
PUPPIES
Basically, we breed only
occasionally, when we
want to keep something for ourselves. It means we usually don't
have more than one litter per
year or even one in every two, three years. Each puppy
that is born here is very special for us and we only
let them go to approved homes at a proper age. For that reason,
we like to know the prospective new owners with some advange.
Our stud dogs and brood bitches
are checked against eyes diseases yearly during their active
breeding lives, and we only
breed clean to clean dogs.

A BRIEF HISTORY
I first started
insisting my parents to give me a Siberian Husky because it catched me
since the first time I saw one of these dogs. After my first Siberian, a few more came to us
quickly, without any knowledgement about the standard. When I realized I
wasgoing to be a serious breeder, I bought a stock of 4 foundations: 2 half brothers and
2 outcrossed girls. After a few breedings between these dogs, I noticed
that I wanted to go in a different direction than where I had
been, to start building a distinguishable line, and since than I have
worked hardly on this objective.
THE PRESENT
In late 1997, our
family travelled to Buenos Aires - Argentina especially to pick a new dog.
It was the beginning of the new direction of Bukharin Siberians.
Linebreeding the new couple of foundation dogs, Casablanca
Sweet Boy and Kazalimsky's
Lorena O'Bukharin, they produced an amount of 10 puppies in 2 beautiful litters.
The kids we have kept out of Cinco and Lorena are giving us all
we need to keep going ahead.
OUR FUTURE
The next step
is to introduce something new to incorporate to our current lines. We
research a lot and plan the future of our kennel, and it
seriously makes us
to
believe that our next breedings and new additions will make us to give a
big jump in
quality even more.
